hair analysis testHair analysis tests look at the mineral composition of the body, as well as being indicative of energy, metabolism, detoxification ability, thyroid and adrenal levels. It can even be indicative of a future cardio or high blood pressure issues. Minerals have an effect on every process in our body, and each mineral affects the levels of every other mineral. Because of this, it is important to keep these in optimal balance if we want our bodies to be at their best performance levels. Hair is the second most metabolically active tissue in the body, and gives us reliable results as to what is going on in the body.

The most common reason people want to get a hair analysis done is to help support symptoms of “brain fog” or more serious issues such as ADD or ADHD. When toxic metals build up in the brain, they will start attempting to replace other minerals in their day to day processes, which then severely slows and limits these processes. Human brains are not naturally filled with these metals, but because of environmental sources (an example being tap water, or metals used as preservatives in vaccines) they are much more common than they should be.

Another main reason people may need a hair analysis test done is if they are in pain. If metals are building up in the tissues, the important minerals that reduce pain like calcium, magnesium and zinc which supports tissue healing may not be able to do the job they are supposed to do.

Hair analyses also look at the “good” minerals like calcium, magnesium, lithium, sodium, iodine, potassium, iron, copper, zinc, etc. These minerals are used in every enzyme reaction in the body, and if they are out of balance these processes can either happen too slowly or too quickly which sets the body out of balance. The most common reason for deficiencies in these good minerals is the amount of junk food, food additives, and pesticides and overall toxins in our society. Stress also causes these minerals to deplete which reduces detox ability which increases toxicity from metals.

The third largest use for hair analysis is to look at thyroid and adrenal hormone levels. Some people might ask “why not just use a blood test?” Well, the benefit of a hair analysis is that it looks at the stored levels, rather than the levels currently being used. For example if sodium / potassium are very low the person may be experiencing adrenal or thyroid fatigue. If sodium / potassium are high, the person may be experiencing hyper adrenal and / or thyroid function which might not show up in the blood. The blood acts as a form of transport in the body, moving all kinds of things from one place to another. Since it is always in a state of transport, we can never know exactly how much of something is in the body. The hair gives us the “stored” levels, meaning the potential the body has ready to use. Hair also can act as a time-line showing us how levels fluctuate over a period of time.

As you can see, there are many reasons you might say “I need a hair analysis test.” It is highly beneficial in telling a story of your health.

FibromyalgiaFibromyalgia can best be described as a condition involving pain in the muscles and fibrous tissues of the body. It is also often associated with general fatigue and tenderness. Fibromyalgia is becoming a fairly common pain diagnosis, especially when other chronic pain conditions become ruled out. A test that is gaining popularity when looking for fibromyalgia is a non-invasive test you can do at home called a hair analysis test.

A hair analysis test involves using a small sample of someone’s hair to assess their health. Hair is the second most metabolically active tissue in the body. It is influenced by genetics, hormones, and the environment. Proteins in the hair show us what a person has been exposed to, as well as what is within the body. The benefit of a hair test versus a blood test is that since the blood is a form of transport in the body, it will only show us what is currently being used. Hair, on the other hand, can show us what is stored within the body as well as how much of that is actually being used. As an example, older people generally have a lot of a lot of calcium in their arteries or joints, but this does not necessarily mean that it is able to be used in their bones.

Studies have shown that people with fibromyalgia have a high amount of calcium and magnesium in their hair. This actually points towards a deficiency of these within the body (since they are stored in an unusable form). Other results that point towards fibromyalgia are sodium/potassium imbalances or an abundance of toxic metals which lead to pain. At Nutritionally Yours, we recommend that those who struggle with pain take a hair analysis test to identify toxic buildups and extensive mineral deficiencies that are contributing to health challenges.

Chronic painHeavy metals are prevalent in modern society due to the high amount of industrialism contained within our culture. Metals can be found anywhere and everywhere including food, medicine, water, household items, and even in the air we breathe at home, work, shopping or at school. Low amounts of metals are naturally needed in our body and help with every process that our body conducts, but an overabundance of these metals can cause disruptions in these processes and slow down your body as a whole.

There are two ways that metals will build up in the body. The first is called biotoxicity. This is when toxins build up in the body tissues and cause aching joint pain and digestion issues. The second is neurotoxicity, which is where toxins build up in your nervous system that cause neurological issues such as headaches, pain, sleep disturbances, fatigue, depression, and cognitive difficulties.

The reason that metals affect the body like they do has to do with how our body uses metals in its processes. As an example, while calcium is naturally in the bones if your body has too much lead (or too little calcium) it will use the lead instead which can lead to osteoporosis and can disrupt the formation of red blood cells. Another example is that magnesium can be replaced in this manner with aluminum which can lead to neurological disorders such as Alzheimer’s.

Symptoms of heavy metal toxicity are difficult to identify since they can be associated with multiple possible conditions. Aluminum can be especially “sneaky” in the way it affects a person. It can actually force calcium out of the bones and cause them to begin to decay and weaken. When it builds up in your muscle tissues it can cause chronic pain during movement (especially in the joints).

At Nutritionally Yours, we recommend a hair analysis test to look at the status of metals within your body. Hair is the most accurate way to check for metals. Blood can be tested as well, but since blood serves as a transport for everything in the body the metal levels will fluctuate and be inaccurate. Hair is directly connected to the tissues where metals will build up, and can even give a detailed history of the metal levels in your body.

Heavy Metal ToxicityA hair tissue analysis test is a beneficial way to identify heavy metal toxicity plus tissue mineral levels. Both of these items can be helpful in supporting optimal health and wellness. Tissue mineral and metal toxicity testing is also helpful in uncovering reasons for certain symptoms and health challenges. If minerals are imbalanced we will direct you to natural products to help improve mineral balance. If there is a heavy metal toxicity we can direct you to easy and beneficial nutrients to support the body in getting rid of the toxicity and improve wellness.

The human body contains minerals that effect each other via their various processes within the body. These minerals are the basis of all life. When these minerals are in balance, our bodies perform at their optimum level and we are left feeling great. When these minerals are out of balance, it can lead to all sorts of various symptoms depending on what minerals are too high/low relative to your personal needs. When this happens, we are not able to perform optimally and can even feel ill without knowing the cause.

There are many heavy metals necessary to the body. Zinc, copper, chromium, iron, and manganese are an example of metals that are essential in small amounts. However, an overabundance of these can become toxic to the body and can lead to heavy metal toxicity symptoms. Nonessential metals that can also cause this are lead, mercury, arsenic, and cadmium. Heavy metal toxicity can affect the central nervous system, cardiovascular system, gastrointestinal system, lungs, kidneys, liver, endocrine glands, and bones. Heavy metals become toxic to the body when they accumulate in the soft tissues rather than making it to their intended “posts” where they serve their essential job. Common symptoms of heavy metal toxicity are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, central nervous system dysfunction, heart problems, and anemia.

Heavy metals deplete the body of nutrients, which has been linked to antisocial, poor behavior and focus challenges in children. An overload of metals like aluminum can lead to pain syndromes or nervous system challenges in adults. Aluminum toxicity can prevent beneficial and necessary minerals like calcium or magnesium from being absorbed and utilized properly by the body. There are many different ways to lower or rid the amount of heavy metal toxicity in the body – the most extreme of these being chelation via IV. Less extreme and more natural ways involve altering the diet to better balance vitamin intake and eating more spices such as cilantro which provide natural chelation. Another natural form of chelation is apple pectin (a fiber found in fruits). Pectin serves to bind unwanted substances and help to clear them out.

If you suspect that you might have heavy metal toxicity, it is important to properly test and know for sure. At Nutritionally Yours, we offer hair analysis tests to check your minerals and heavy metals levels. Hair is the second most metabolically active tissue in the body. It is affected by blood, perspiration, environment, genetics, hormones and enzymes. While blood can show you what is happening outside your cells, hair serves to show what is currently stored within the body. For example, if there is a high concentration of mercury in your hair, then there is going to be a much higher concentration in other organs within the body. Once you know your metal levels, we can then give you a personal and natural protocol to help get your levels back to where they should be and help your body get rid of the tissue burden of metal toxicity. Protocols give you an exact process specific to your body that will aid in metal detox, generally by balancing the diet and adding in natural forms of chelation through supplementation and food.

Have you or ADHDa loved one been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD? Do you often find yourself unable to focus, unable to control impulses, or a mix of the two? ADHD is one of the most common childhood disorders in existence, and it stays with you through adulthood as well. ADHD can negatively impact your work life, school life, your social life and relationships with your family. “Any child can be fidgety or have trouble paying attention. But a child with ADHD has these symptoms to an extent that they can become a distraction at home or in the classroom. (GPL)”

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) are essentially the same thing, except Attention Deficit Disorder is considered a more outdated term. The difference between these two is now described via a specialization of ADHD. The first specialization, also called ADHD, is when a person’s symptoms are hyperactive and impulsive. This can look like squirming, interrupting people, difficulty taking turns, excessive talking, running around at inappropriate times, and appearing to always being on the go. The second specialization, also called ADD, is inattention or brain fog. ADD sufferers display symptoms of being easily distracted, forgetful, making careless mistakes, having trouble with organization, ignoring people even when being spoken to directly, and the constant losing of important things. The third specialization, and the reason that many now simply call the disorder ADHD, is that it is possible to have a mix of both inattentiveness and hyperactive impulsiveness in varying degrees.

Children with ADHD generally have one or more of the following: mineral and vitamin deficiencies, toxic metal accumulation, improper diet, hidden infections, or food sensitivities. The most common of which is either mineral deficiencies or toxic metal accumulation. Toxic metals can get into the body either by being passed down from a parent or from environmental sources, and can negatively impact brain function. An imbalance of minerals such as copper and zinc can also impact the brain. Copper affects the body’s ability to rebuild itself, while zinc affects the immune system. These two minerals have to maintain harmony or any excess levels can actually become toxic to the body. Every metal found in nature is also found in the human body and is used in its daily processes, but an imbalance or toxic level that is then deposited in body tissues or the brain can impact these processes by harming development or causing neurological damage.

While ADHD always starts at childhood, it is not uncommon for a diagnosis not to be made until adulthood. Since the symptoms vary in severity from person to person, it will usually be found either while looking at another disorder or by a loved one or coworker recommending a person get checked for ADHD. At Nutritionally Yours, we are not looking for a “diagnosis” of ADD or ADHD. We are looking to help children and adults suffering from these symptoms improve, naturally. Minerals and toxic elements can contribute to a wide variety of focus challenges.

At Nutritionally Yours, we believe those who struggle with ADD/ADHD should help themselves by taking a hair analysis tests to check their metal levels in their body. Metals in the hair are more than three hundred times more concentrated than in the blood or urine, so it is the most effective test for this cause. Metals in the hair are also not regulated by homeostatic mechanisms like they are in the rest of the body, so you can often see potential issues before they become issues. Hair can also serve as a time-line of sorts which allows you to see the changes in levels over time.

Nutritionally Yours is here so you can overcome health challenges and get on with your life.

chronic fatigueDo you ever wonder “what can I take for more energy?” Well, sorry to say that there is no simple answer to that question! There is no “magic bullet” to improve a person’s energy level! Randomly trying different supplements that are supposed to be for increased energy levels, may make a little difference initially, but not in the long run.

We have to understand that when dealing with our human body, we need to respect the complexity of the body we have. We also must appreciate that there are many possible causes of chronic fatigue. A thorough medical history, physical examination and routine blood work sometimes uncover causes of chronic fatigue such as anemia, infection, or hypothyroidism. But when lab results are “normal,” that is when Hair Testing may be helpful in identifying reasons for the chronic fatigue.

Information can be found on Analytical Research Labs, Inc. website.

A prime function of the body is to produce energy from the food we eat. When biochemical energy production declines for any reason, the resulting symptom is chronic fatigue. Fatigue is the basic indicator of an energetic imbalance in the body. Fatigue is the most common complaint in doctors’ offices today. While it is not a disease, it is an early warning symptom for many potentially serious health conditions. Yet fatigue is not accorded nearly the importance that it deserves. Medical approaches to fatigue usually consist of treatment for anemia and hypothyroidism. Both these conditions must be considered as causes of fatigue. However, there are many other causes as well.

Two possible reasons why fatigue is oftentimes not addressed by physicians, are an inability to assess the causes of fatigue and an incomplete understanding of those causes. This paper discusses the use of the trace mineral analysis for assessing fatigue. Biochemical causes for fatigue include imbalances in the oxidation rate, interruptions in the energy pathway, heavy metal toxicity, sugar and carbohydrate intolerance and glandular imbalances.

Chronic fatigue not only affects physical health, but also work performance, behavior and family dynamics. Understanding fatigue can help us understand problems ranging from depression to drug addiction and crime. This article presents an overview of nutritional causes for fatigue, assessment of fatigue by mineral analysis and correction through scientifically applied nutrition programs.

How can our Hair Test help? What can it show?

1. Imbalanced Oxidation Rate – the rate in which food is burned. When the oxidation rate is too slow or too fast chronic fatigue can set in. There needs to be a calcium / potassium ratio of 4: 1 and a sodium / magnesium ratio of 4:17:1. Most people with chronic fatigue that do hair testing will have a SLOW oxidation rate. Calcium and Magnesium will show HIGH relative to Sodium and Potassium. This may indicate a sluggish thyroid or adrenal gland even when traditional labs seem to be normal.

  1. Calcium /Magnesium Ratio: An imbalanced ratio is an indicator of carbohydrate intolerance. Availability of glucose to the cells is essential for energy.
  2. Sodium / Potassium Ratio: When this ratio is low fatigue is always present. It can indicate sugar and carbohydrate intolerance, chronic stress, adrenal fatigue and even tissue breakdown.
  1. Elevated Toxic Metals: These can contribute to chronic fatigue in hair testing. They displace vital minerals and can impair energy pathways.
  2. Four – Low Electrolyte Pattern: The four main electrolytes (sodium, potassium , calcium, magnesium) are all below normal. This is associated with a stress pattern that includes chronic fatigue and can be identified through hair testing.
  1. Trace Mineral Deficiencies: Trace minerals are needed for energy pathways, for glucose metabolism and more. Low zinc, manganese, copper, iron and chromium are commonly found in hair testing when there is chronic fatigue.

Before starting on a supplement program, consider doing hair testing to identify specifically what nutrients your body needs to help your body battle the chronic fatigue better.

  • If you are searching for answers on how to feel more energized, hair testing is a terrific guide!
  • If you want to identify which mineral deficiencies you have that may be causing chronic fatigue, hair testing is an accurate, easy and non invasive method to help you.
  • If you want to know if your tissues are being burdened by metals which can lead to chronic fatigue, hair testing is a great way to obtain that information.

All of our hair testing is done by nationally certified labs so you are assured the results are accurate. Hair testing results are reviewed by our staff and the lab, who will then provide you with a personal protocol so you can know what is needed to support better health and wellness.

hair analysis testMuch time and money is spent on the hair on our heads. We wash it, fuss over it, blow dry and style it everyday. Then every few weeks we make an appointment and sit in our hair stylist’s chair for a hair cut and possible color dye process, highlights, etc, etc. Of course it’s good to fuss over our hair because we want to look nice and be clean. So, with everything that you do for your hair, have you ever thought about what your hair can do for you??? Have you ever thought that an easy hair analysis test can help you improve your health?? Well….. it certainly can!

Our hair can tell us a story about what we might be lacking in our bodies, and are we as “healthy” as we think we are! For instance, is the multivitamin that you may be taking actually being absorbed and helping you? Or are certain mineral levels too high in your tissues and thus may be hurting you? If toxin levels are high in the hair and thus in the tissues, should your supplementation focus be detoxing and chelating supports? Are you eating food that provides enough or perhaps too much of a particular mineral?

Did you know that your very own hair is an ideal tissue for sampling and testing?

  • Hair is the second largest tissue in your body, so it is totally natural to test the hair for minerals and toxic build up. What shows up in your hair is indicative of all the other tissues in your body.

  • Hair analysis test results reflect how much of these elements are in your tissues and provide a vivid picture of your internal environment, that very few other health tests reveal.

A hair analysis test will test for minerals, metals, and toxic elements. Some of the elements that are tested are: Aluminum, Arsenic, Copper, Iron, Lead, Mercury, Nickel, Cadmium, Sodium, Chromium, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Selenium, Zinc, Potassium, Cobalt……..to name a few.

Why is it important to do a hair analysis test to answer some of your health questions?

  • Trace minerals are essential in many metabolic functions in all phases of the life process.

  • Magnesium is required for normal muscular function, especially the heart. A deficiency has been associated with an increased incidence of health challenges like abnormal heart conditions, anxiety, muscle cramps, insomnia, constipation and nervousness.

  • Potassium is critical for normal nutrient transport into the cell. A deficiency can result in health challenges like muscular weakness, mild depression and lethargy (fatigue).

  • Sodium, if in excess, is associated with health challenges of hypertension, but adequate amounts are required for normal health.

  • Zinc is involved in the production, storage and secretion of insulin and is necessary for growth hormones, skin health, healing capability and much more. The zinc to copper ratio is helpful in mood fluctuations.

Yes! A hair analysis test can reveal a lot about YOUR health and wellness.

Health concerns such as fatigue, weak immunity and sleep problems can stem from nutrient imbalances. There are many factors to take into consideration when considering the following question — What can Cause a Mineral Imbalance?

  • Improper DIET through high intake of refined and processed foods, alcohol and fad diets can all lead to a chemical imbalance.

  • The SOIL in which food is grown or how it was prepared can affect a “healthy” diet.

  • Physical or emotional STRESS are factors that can deplete the body of many nutrients. STRESS can also reduce the body’s absorption and utilization capability of many nutrients.

  • Prescription and over-the-counter MEDICATIONS, such as aspirin, antacids, diuretics, and oral contraceptives, can deplete the body’s stores of nutrient minerals and/or increase the levels of toxic elements.

  • POLLUTION can also contribute to nutrient imbalances. We are continually exposed to a variety of toxic metal sources such as cigarette smoke (cadmium), anti-antiperspirants (aluminum), hair dyes (lead), dental amalgams (mercury and cadmium), and copper and aluminum cookware, to name a few on a list of hundreds of POLLUTION sources.

  • NUTRITIONAL SUPPLEMENTS, can be a good thing to take. However, if taken in improper amounts or if the wrong supplement is used, this can contribute to biochemical imbalance.

So, with your hair being the second largest tissue in your body, and because it is natural to test the hair for minerals and toxic build up, it makes good common sense to do a hair analysis test, and test for mineral content and heavy metal exposure. We don’t have to wonder what imbalances there might be in our tissues, because a hair analysis test will give us a clear picture of our internal environment, and get us on the road to better health!

mineralsMost of us live busy lives. We want to feel good about how we look. And we all need some well deserved pampering from time to time. So, every about every six weeks, we ladies go to a hair dresser for a haircut, and a some of us for hair coloring too. The way we cut our hair tells a story to others, like short and sassy, or long and flowing. And we all have had those “hat days.” When nothing we do works so we reach for a hat instead, put in on top of our hair, smile and go about our busy day.

If we put aside the personal looks and stuff concerning our hair, have you ever thought that our hair can tell a story about our health, including a story about the minerals in the body? With all that we have done and spent on our hair, can our hair teach us something about our wellness, health, and energy? Could our hair inform us and tell us about what is going on inside of us? And in doing so, help keep our bodies strong and healthy as we live our busy lives?

What is really in the hair we are getting cut or colored? What can your hair really tell you about your body and the minerals inside of you?

Hair is the second most metabolically active tissue in the body. The hair tissue is affected by the nutrients in our blood, the toxins in our perspiration and environment. Hair is also a product of our genetics, hormones and enzymes. The hair represents what is occurring inside the cells and at the sub molecular levels of the body. Hair gives a reading of what the body has been exposed to over time.

Your hair can tell us about the minerals in your body. Health changing and possible life saving knowledge can be gathered from a simple test called a hair mineral analysis test.

A hair analysis test may be used as a guide to which minerals may be deficient in the body and which mineral levels are too high and may be hindering good health. For example the minerals calcium, magnesium, sodium and potassium should all be in balance. If sodium / potassium are high with calcium / magnesium low the symptoms of hyperactivity, anxiety or even trouble sleeping may occur. Plus if there is a toxic metal tissue burden it can disrupt mineral balance within the body and cause adverse symptoms.

Iron deficiency symptoms: extreme, fatigue, pale skin, weakness, shortness of breath, chest pains, frequent infections, headache, dizziness, coldness, brittle nails, fast heartbeat, poor appetite, feeling of tingling and crawling in your legs (RLS)

Magnesium deficiency symptoms: calcium deficiency, poor heart health, weakness, tremors, nausea, anxiety, high blood pressure, Type II Diabetes, respiration issues, dizziness, fatigue, potassium deficiency, difficulty swallowing, poor memory, confusion

Potassium deficiency symptoms: muscle weakness, spasms, cramps and tetany, paralysis, muscle stiffness, aching and tenderness, abdominal bloating, pain and cramping, heart palpitations, dizziness and fainting, frequent urination and extreme thirst, numbing and tingling.

Your hair CAN tell you about the minerals in your body. And a hair analysis test is easy to order and we will help you interpret the results.

Testimony, No More Hair Loss!
I had a hair analysis done a few months ago. I got one done because my hair was falling out and my nails were breaking. The hair analysis showed I was not absorbing my nutrients well enough, especially calcium. The protocol Nutritionally Yours suggested enhanced my absorption and helped strengthen my body. My hair is full and healthy and my nails stopped breaking.

Thank you !

hair analysisThe other day, I was counseling a new client. This person really wanted to feel better but stated they were unsure how a naturopathic (natural) clinic could help her. I asked her to keep an open mind.

Her story was one that I had heard many times. She had spent years dealing with the same poor health symptoms. She visited many traditional medical clinics and spent too much money with no solutions to her poor health and wellness. So, on the recommendation of friend she comes to me as her “last resort”.

After listening to her story, I decided that a hair analysis would be the proper testing to see if a toxic overload or mineral imbalance was at the root cause of her symptoms. She questioned me about a hair analysis test. I told her a story about a lady (age 55 ish) that did a hair analysis even though she was not a believer. The hair analysis showed high calcium, magnesium, sodium and potassium. I explained to her that she needed to adjust her diet or high blood pressure may be in line for her. She did not believe me. One year later she came in and said, “Ok, I don’t understand it, but you were right!” I have high blood pressure now and you need to teach me what to do.” So the new client in my office agreed to let me run a hair analysis on her too.

While cutting her hair I explained that for many years, hair analysis has been used to help identify the causes of poor health. This is because hair is one of the most metabolically active tissues of the body. As hair is growing the body deposits levels of minerals and metals into the hair and that level of those elements are reflective of what is being stored in the body. I then showed her a medical review of 77 women and how a woman’s dietary intake of certain minerals and metals can be reflected in a hair analysis.

I also told her that results from hair analysis are considered so reliable that they have been used as admissible evidence in court cases.

At this the client seemed more understanding of the idea of having her hair analyzed. I asked my assistant to take the sample of woman’s hair and send it off to the lab for analysis.

3 weeks later the lady returned to my office to review the results. She was shocked to see that her hair analysis compared almost identically to her symptoms! Based on her symptoms and hair analysis test results she was given some dietary changes and a few supplements. We also removed some supplements that she had been taking for quite a while because they hair analysis showed her to be high in those elements.

Four weeks later she returned to the office. She stated she was feeling wonderful and satisfied that we were able to find the root cause of her health symptoms! We suggested she return in 5 months to repeat the hair analysis to see the actual lab improvements.

The neatest thing about hair analysis is that you don’t have to come to our office to get one done! You can simply visit our website and go directly to our online store to ORDER. Once you order the analysis we will ship you the kit directly to your home. Then follow the directions to cut your hair sample and mail it to our lab. Once analysis is complete and the results are available we will email you results. (2-3 weeks)

Heavy Metal ToxicityEnvironmental toxins are a concern in today’s society. It seems we are being exposed to more toxins everyday. Overtime, our body can become burdened with these toxins and start to create troublesome symptoms that effect our everyday life. Heavy metal toxicity is one of those toxins that can start to effect our health and life. It is a real concern for adults and children alike.

Normally, our body should be able to detox itself and clean out these environmental toxins. But many times the detox pathways can become overly burdened and not able to perform their job properly. Thus toxins like heavy metals can build up in the body.

There is a way that your hair can help when you are dealing with the possibility of heavy metal toxicity. Your hair can tell the story of the minerals and toxins that are within your body. Hair is a highly metabolic tissue. Hair stores toxins just like any other tissue in the body, and so contains a record of exposures to toxins over a period of time.

It is very simple to collect a sample of hair and test it for heavy metal toxicity. Hair sampling is non invasive, and easy to do at home.

Here are some points to think about when considering hair testing for Heavy Metal Toxicity:

  • It is easier to detect heavy metals in the hair than in the blood.
  • Heavy metals are not usually detected in high levels in the blood except immediately after an exposure.
  • Heavy metals tend to become stored in non-reactive tissues of the body, such as hair and fat.
  • If toxins are stored in the fat, then dieting or detoxing can release these toxins into the tissues of the body. The hair can help because it is a tissue that is easily tested.

When our clients order a Hair Analysis through HairAnalysisTest.com to identify Heavy Metal Toxicity within the body we mail them a test kit right away. In the privacy of their own home, our clients cut and then ship their hair sample to us. Once the hair sample reaches our lab, the results of the testing are emailed in approximately 14 business days. A natural protocol to help reduce heavy metal toxicity and increase overall health and wellness is mailed a few days later.

Once you have had a chance to review all the information, you may have questions. With Nutritionally Yours, and HairAnalysisTest.com you can schedule a phone consult with our Naturopath.

Your hair can also help you know if the heavy metal detox protocol is working or if you need something stronger. After you begin your protocol to reduce your heavy metal toxicity, you should allow approximately 5 months to pass before submitting another hair analysis sample. Many times the second hair analysis test result will be worse then the first. This is totally normal and indicative that the protocol is working to pull out the toxins from other areas of the body. Usually by the third hair analysis, heavy metal toxicity levels are reduced and our clients are feeling much better.

All of our hair analysis testing for heavy metal toxicity is done by nationally certified labs so you are assured the results are accurate. Nutritionally Yours and HairAnalysisTest.com is here so you can overcome these symptoms and get on with your life.
